This annual observance serves as a reminder of the work still needed to achieve true gender parity and provides a platform for amplifying women’s voices and experiences. Join us in supporting IWD’s vision and be part of the transformative change that will shape a more equitable world for all.
Did you know that Gender Equality is one of the UNs SDGs?
United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)5, Gender Equality, is one of the 17 sustainable development goals set out by the UN. Only 32% of the renewable energy workforce are women. There is a 8.06% difference in mean hourly pay between male and female SEAI employees.
In the rapidly evolving renewable energy sector, our commitment to sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is paramount. We place particular emphasis on SDG 5: Gender Equality, recognising the vital role of diversity in driving innovation and progress.
“International Women’s Day is powered by the collective efforts of all
Written by IWD
Collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women’s Day impactful. Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist reportedly once explained “The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.” So make International Women’s Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.”
